
A.J. Luke is a Poly alumni class of 1982 and was a captain of the 1980-1982 CIF Championship Jackrabbit Team.
Coach Luke received his Bachelor Arts Degree in Criminal Justice Administration and his Masters Degree in Secondary Education at the University of Phoenix. Coach Luke is also a graduate of the South Bay Police Academy. Coach Luke has been employed with the Long Beach Unified School District for 13 years, working with the Safety and Security department as a CSO.
Coach Luke began his coaching career in 1996 at Poly, coaching and mentoring many young Jackrabbits in their first years at Poly. Throughout his 10 years at Poly, Coach Luke states he was blessed to have coached some of the greatest athletes out of Poly and in 2006, Coach Luke stepped out the house to begin an upward coaching career move.

2008-2010: Cabrillo High School. Head Coach
In 2011, Coach Luke returns home as Varsity Linebacker Coach and Jr. Varsity Defensive Coordinator.
Coach Luke is an accomplished Professional Musician recording and touring with many major artists such as: Snoop Dogg, Warren G., Nate Dogg, The Fugees, The Jazz Crusaders, Dizzy Gillespie, Thelma Houston Larry Graham, and many others. Coach Luke is now serving as the Music Director at the Worship Center Community Church in Long Beach.
Currently, Coach Luke resides in Long Beach, with his beautiful wife Lori Luke (Poly Alum, All-CIF Soccer Player) and kids Alton (14), Morgan (11), Payton (6), and Grason (3).
