Gregg Washington: has been the Strength and Conditioning Coach at Long Beach Poly for the last 11 years. In this role Gregg's responsibility is to develop the strength, speed and conditioning of our athletes, along with work ethic and focus through a strength and conditioning program that has been developed and perfected over the last 15 years. Prior to joining the Poly family, Gregg served his country in the United States Navy as a Hospital Corpsman in the Naval Special Operations Community. During his last duty station at the Naval Medical Center San Diego, Gregg was the Physical Readiness Coordinator for the Admiral of the base, and was in charge of keeping over twenty five hundred military personal within body fat standards. After getting out of the military Gregg received his B.S. in Kinesiology and several national certifications in Strength and Conditioning, Personal Training, Nutrition,Pre and Post Rehabilitation to just name a few.
In 1998 Gregg started his own personal training and wellness business, where he did in home personal training, corporate wellness, team building seminars and diabetes and nutrition seminars. He also performed over three dozen seminars at major corporations related to stress reduction, courage,empowerment,office and work place movement. Gregg has conducted clinics in small arm tactics,hand to hand combat for private security firms as well. Then in 2003 Gregg opened Fitness Impact Sports Training and Rehabilitation Center in the heart of Long Beach, where he trains some of the top collegiate and high school athletes in Southern California. Gregg also works with professional athletes from every sport ranging from golf, tennis, mix martial arts, to pro football and basketball. Gregg is currently in the process of writing two books related to sports training and nutrition. He is also working on bringing his training invention that he has been developing the last six years to market.
Gregg enjoys thai kickboxing, working out, scuba diving, rock climbing, and adventure racing to challenge his self physically; he also likes reading books and writing articles. see he website
